Soul Sync (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you choose to share. This Privacy Policy (last updated: 6th October 2025) explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we secure it, and how you can control it.
General Wellbeing Notice:
Soul Sync provides general emotional wellbeing support only. It does not offer medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and is not a substitute for professional mental health care.
Soul Sync collects only the data necessary to deliver and personalize the experience: optional personal details you may provide such as full name, date of birth, the time of day you feel most active, preferred activities, and preference choices between music, movies, books, podcasts, art, and games. We also collect mood logs, journaling entries, AI chat history, activity or mood-tracking data, and camera-based facial emotion recognition data when you explicitly enable camera access. We do not collect contacts, files, SMS, or unrelated personal information.
Sensitive Data Transparency:
Because mood inputs, journaling entries, emotional reflections, and facial-expression signals can indicate your emotional state, these are treated as sensitive wellbeing-related information. We process them solely to provide personalized wellbeing insights, mood history, and supportive features. Emotion detection is approximate and intended only for wellbeing reflection, not clinical evaluation.
Camera access is used only for real-time emotion recognition. We do not store raw photos or video. Only derived, non-identifying emotion labels and metrics are retained. You may revoke camera access at any time. Enabling this feature requires explicit in-app consent.
Your AI chat history, emotion-history data, and mood logs are stored securely in Google Firebase (encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest). Data is never shared with advertisers, external analytics providers, or unrelated third parties. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. Any internal processing for model improvement is performed only in aggregate and does not identify you personally unless you explicitly opt in through a separate consent flow.
You maintain control over your data at all times. You may access, correct, update, export, or request deletion of your account and stored data through the app or by contacting us. Upon verified deletion request, we will permanently remove your data from active systems and backups within 30 days wherever reasonably possible.
We retain data only for as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal requirements, or resolve disputes. When no longer required, we securely delete or anonymize it.
Soul Sync only requests essential permissions (camera when enabled, internet for secure sync and AI services). The app never requests access to contacts, SMS, or unrelated storage.
Soul Sync is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it promptly after verification.
While we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to safeguard information, no system is 100 percent secure. If a security incident occurs, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by law.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or other appropriate channels. This policy is governed by the laws of India and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
